Where I'm At And Post-Covid Fashion

Many years ago I decided to create a blog about fashion for family and friends. This never took off from a technology standpoint, so now I’m wondering how I managed to push content through from 2007 to the present day. Somehow I did it and I hope that 2021 proves to be my year for emerging from the “Luddite” mentality. Reaching more people using Instagram and LinkedIn is one of my goals.

It feels like not much is happening out there in the world of style. Everyone is waiting for their vaccination appointments and to emerge from this past year unscathed.

Working from home, however, is still in full swing. I urge you to consider what you wear as still vital to your daily life. When we clothe ourselves every day, we decide how we’re going to feel at that moment. Are you going to be inspired by yourself today? Wear something that makes you feel like a BOSS.

Here are a few of my favorite themes for when we do emerge from this pandemic.

Get sustainable. Sustainable fashion is undoubtedly the future. Think about your wardrobe itself as a “capsule”, with pieces that get rotated easily throughout the year. This limits your consumption while making it a LOT easier to get dressed.

My own eco-conscious pieces are from local designers but I also love to follow the larger scene.

I am also currently on the lookout for a Mr. Mittens cardigan with a chunky knit. Or maybe I will finally get a knit kit from Third Piece and do it myself.

These sustainable pieces usually end up selling for more than what people are accustomed to spending. I understand the reluctance here. Try to think of these pieces as items that will be worn year after year, an investment in your closet. Or, think of it this way. If you continuously purchased different chunky sweaters that never felt right and always fell apart, you’d likely end up spending more and feeling dissatisfied every time.

Speaking of investments, it’s time to shop seasonless. Not only is a seasonless wardrobe more sustainable, but it’s also easier to maintain and wear

A fantastic designer to check out: Priemlov.
